I have no idea how updating firefox and flash could have resulted in something getting screwed up with the nvidia driver interacting with openoffice, especially as everything else including my various The problem this time was that yesterday I made some modifications to my .tcshrc, and it turns out that it wnet into error and stopped to be read at login. I agree you should not run a graphical desktop as root but, individual applications do get run as root pretty frequently. This problem is present only after the upgrade from today. I'm assuming there's a config file I need to fix but, I have no idea where it might be. The old .tcshrc set the following environment variable: setenv LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT 1 This activated "indirect rendering", which send the commands to the X.org by GLX protocol, and then X send it to http://linuxprofilm.com/the-error/the-error-was-badwindow-invalid-window-parameter.html I vaguely remembered reinstalling the nvidia driver fixing some X related issues for an unrelated program, so thought I'd give it a crack.
AdrianSimionov commented Apr 30, 2014 Not able to reproduce the issue anymore. Can you try to start GNS3 using the following command? However, I have a QT4 application that I need to run as root.
