Why does my MBP not do that? Would a new HDD solve the problem? The problem is clearly in the serial communications with the HDD, not in the magnetic storage and retrieval of data. I've this problem with all distrubution of leo: retail, iDeneb, kalyway, iAtkos and iPC.

If I boot holding down the D key it boots to a grey screen and a dialog box pops up for a second and then *poof* the computer shuts down. The problem is that when I try to do so, boot using the disc, it just restarts to the hdd, it will not boot from the disc. i've the same chipset and connector too.. One of the early aluminium ones, 20 inch screen. The time now is 11:09 AM.
