Thinkpad 600 Error 173 163

If I enter the date 2006/04/23 -> press OK -> computer freezes -> turn off -> wait for a while -> turn on again, the date will show up as 2006/04/23, Does anyone know of how to reset/remove this password prompt? In order to access a Thinkpad BIOS, you must hold the F1 key down while you turn the computer on. THEY ARE NOT CD-series batteries. OK, but inside is (I think) the CR2330) coin battery, and I think that "refurbishing" the IBM battery involves simply replacing that coin with a new one. nevermind the main battery doesn't hold much more than 10 minutes of power anymore but its nice not have to set the clock ever time i power it up now.
