I always get the error message when I wake up the machine from sleep. These tips were all great and I finally got to the bottom of my problem. I know Time Machine won't update manual backups, so I partitioned the drive and I KNOW I formatted it as Mac OS Extended Journaled. I do occasionally get nostalgic for the classic Mac OS, but then things like this remind me why we gave up the customizability and flexibility of that OS for the stability my review here Frankly, that's the best one to exclude anyhow.
